Business Strategist & Successful Entrepreneur Bring Expertise toNew Mexico Community Capital Team

Bernalillo, NM - New Mexico Community Capital (NMCC) announces the addition of Susan Burgess, PhD and Richard (Rich) Murray, who will be responsible for helping promising small enterprises develop workable business strategies and plans to move towards economic sustainability.

Both Dr. Burgess and Mr. Murray bring seasoned operational and financial experience to their roles at NMCC. Dr. Burgess was Founder/CEO of four early-stage biotechnology companies, and was founder and principal of The Remuda Group, a consulting firm providing a broad range of expertise in business strategic planning, in regional economic development (Denmark), and in organization of technical conferences.

Dr. Burgess received a PhD in Pharmacology and Toxicology from the University of Kansas. She worked as a scientist and business development executive in the international biopharmaceutical industry from a base in North Carolina, and in the biotechnology businessin southern California, before coming to New Mexico.

Mr. Murray brings over 30 years of experience in active leadership roles within both business and community environments. He served as managing partner of PricewaterhouseCoopers New Hampshire operations from 1990-1995, and spent several years as the Vice President of Finance and Administration for the Allard Nazarian Group, a privately owned holding company comprising several manufacturing entities. For the past eight years, he has been working with companies in a consulting role, principally as interim COO or CFO with responsibility for management of operational, financial and administrative functions.
